Proof of reserves

Client holdings verified against reserves.

Jadenex publishes the reserves it holds against client balances and an independent attestation of those reserves. Any account holder can verify that their own balance was included in the total using the Merkle proof issued to them.

Reserve ratio by asset

The reserve ratio is the total held at the custody addresses divided by the total recorded to client accounts. A ratio at or above one hundred percent means every client balance is backed in full.

Figures are published from the most recent daily snapshot. The snapshot is taken at the same time each day and is signed. Reserves exclude any asset held for the company account, which is recorded separately and is never used to meet a client liability.

Verify your own balance

Each snapshot builds a Merkle tree from every client balance. The root is published below. Your account page issues a record identifier and a proof path. Enter them here to confirm that your balance was included in the total that was attested.

Verification runs in your browser. Nothing you enter here is sent to Jadenex.

What this does and does not prove

It proves that the balance recorded to your account was included in the total that the attestation covered, and that the reserves held met or exceeded that total at the moment of the snapshot.

It does not prove solvency at any other moment, it does not cover liabilities owed to parties other than account holders, and it is not a guarantee against loss.

Method

  1. A snapshot of every client balance is taken at a fixed time each day. Each record contains an account identifier that is salted and hashed, together with the balance of each asset.
  2. A Merkle tree is built from the records. The root of the tree is published on this page together with the snapshot time and the total client balance per asset.
  3. Each account is issued a record identifier and a proof path so that the account holder can verify inclusion without learning anything about any other account.
  4. Holdings at the custody addresses are read at the same moment and are compared with the total client balance per asset to produce the reserve ratio.
  5. An independent firm attests to the holdings and to the method each month and the attestation is published with its scope and any qualification stated in full.
Where a reserve ratio falls below one hundred percent for any asset, deposits and trading in that asset are suspended, the position is disclosed on this page within one business day, and the shortfall is remedied before the suspension is lifted.
